Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle is a group of women who meet monthly on the third Tuesday morning from September through June to cultivate friendships, provide service to our church, support missions around the world, and enrich our faith through Bible study. We are members of Presbyterian Women (PW). https://www.presbyterianwomen.org/
Our Bible lessons are most often provided by PW and this year’s series is entitled, “God's Promise - I Am with You”. These lessons provide an opportunity for us to have thoughtful and encouraging discussions.
We provide micro loans to women in the developing world through Kiva. Over the years we have given 44 micro loans exceeding $9,000 which started with the money we raised in 2011 from the sale of Christmas cards picturing our sanctuary at Christmas.
The holidays are a wonderful time for the Friendship Circle. We create and sell Mother’s Day cards to support local charities. We provide a lovely Thanksgiving Coffee Hour on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Christmas gifts are donated for women and children at Your Food Shelf and we decorate our Chrismon Tree in the Parlor with Chrismons created by the women of the church.
For several years we have organized workshops for Dress-A-Girl. With T-shirts and pretty fabric, we create dresses for little girls in Haiti and welcome women from the community to join us.
We organize special gatherings and dinners for the women of the church with refreshments, entertainment and fun activities.
Please consider joining the Friendship Circle. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make new friends or get to know old friends better.
