Friendship Circle

The Friendship Circle meets on the third Tuesday morning from September through June to cultivate friendships, provide service to our church, support missions around the world, and enrich their faith through Bible study.  They are members of Presbyterian Women (PW), a ministry of the PC(USA).  (https://www.presbyterianwomen.org/)

Their monthly lessons are mainly provided by Presbyterian Women.  These lessons provide an opportunity for thoughtful and encouraging discussions.  They are currently using a Bible study developed by Senior Saints, which is designed with simplicity and fellowship in mind, and focuses on how to live fruitfully while aging faithfully. 

The Circle also provides micro loans to women in the developing world through Kiva. Over the years we have given over 50 micro loans exceeding close to $10,000, which started with the money raised in 2011 from the sale of Christmas cards picturing the sanctuary at Christmas. 

The holidays are a wonderful time for the Friendship Circle.  They create and sell Mother’s Day cards to support local charities. and provide a lovely Thanksgiving Coffee Hour on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  Christmas gifts are donated for women and children at local mission ministries and they decorate the church's Chrismon Tree in the Parlor with Chrismons created by the women of the church. 

They also organize special gatherings and dinners for the women of the church with refreshments, entertainment and fun activities.
